PLAY ADVENTURES MODEL COMPETITION

BACKGROUND

You may know that Cambridgeshire has won major funding to create a new adventure playground on the Spinney in Waterlees. This will be a fantastic new resource for Wisbech children and we want to make sure that they have an input into the ideas and designs for the playground.

THE COMPETITION

We want students at Wisbech schools to tell us about their own and their families’ ‘play adventures’.

What were your mums, dads, neighbours, grannies and grandads’ favourite activites when they were children and young people?  Where did they hang out in Wisbech? What scrapes did they get into and what games did they play?

Write about your own play adventures (in not more than 500 words) or act as a Wisbech Adventure Play reporter: interview a neighbour, family member or friend. You can include  drawings, photos, a video clip….  send us whatever you think describes best what you have found out about playing in Wisbech and elsewhere.

The winner will be awarded £200 worth of poetry books for their class that have been specially chosen by the Poetry Book Society.

All classes who enter will get a prize and the chance to have their ideas exhibited on the Wisbech adventure play website and at a public event on 8th August in the Spinney to which they will be invited.
